A Perspective Shaped by Experience.
Stormie McGee is an experienced trial attorney whose legal career has been dedicated to public service.
As a prosecutor for both Wayne and Jackson Counties, she handled cases ranging in complexity from misdemeanor traffic offenses to white-collar crime, major drug, arson, sexual assault, homicide, and everything in between.
For most of Stormie's legal career, she has been serving the people of the State of Michigan as a prosecutor. But, in order to gain perspective from both sides, Stormie also defended indigent clients at the Washtenaw County Public Defender's Office during the fall/winter of 2021.
Those combined experiences have shaped the way she understands the courtroom and prepared her to serve as a fair and impartial judge for Jackson County.
Committed to Justice and Fairness.
For Stormie, the law has always been about people.
Every case represents real lives, real families, and decisions that matter to real people. That is why she believes judges must be prepared, attentive, impartial, and committed to treating every person who enters the courtroom with dignity, fairness, and respect.
Those principles have guided her throughout her legal career and will continue to guide her on the bench.
Rooted in Jackson County.
Stormie is proud to serve the community that shaped her.
Having grown up in Jackson County, she understands that the decisions made in our courts affect our neighbors, families, businesses, and the community we all share.
She is committed to applying the law with integrity, treating every person with respect, and approaching each case with fairness and thoughtful judgment.
I wanted to understand our justice system from both sides of the courtroom. That experience gave me a broader perspective on justice and made me a better prosecutor. I believe it will also make me a better judge.
